ApplauseCast People: in alphabetical order We're very pleased to have a wonderfully talented group of people pitching in and helping us make ApplauseCast a destination website noted for NPR like quality content and great entertainment.
Larry began publishing his writing about adventure and offbeat travel in 1980. His travel stories have appeared in magazines and newspapers in the U.S. and abroad, including Outside, Travel & Leisure, and the Los Angeles Times. In the early 1980s he co-authored mystery serials for the San Francisco Examiner with James O'Reilly, his old friend from Dartmouth and former disc jockey partner. Since 1985 their safety and security column, "World Travel Watch," has been syndicated in major newspapers in five countries. In 1993 Habegger and O'Reilly founded the publishing company Travelers' Tales with James's brother Tim. Larry and James have worked on more than fifty titles, winning many awards for excellence, including the Lowell Thomas Award for best travel book of the year. Larry is going to guest host several of our upcoming "Director's Cut" interviews with nationally know authors.
Bill has more than 25 years' experience in product development, consulting, and marketing. He has held senior product management positions at Informix Software, TimesTen Inc, a real-time data management company, and an Internet community start-up. He was employee number 4 at Informix and employee number 14 at TimesTen and understands issues around start-up survival, growth and sustainability. Bill is an accomplished musician and writes and performs much oh the original music used by ApplauseCast. Bill is also the author of a novel and composes for several jazz groups.
Steve has 20 years' experience in marketing and sales. He has held senior VP marketing positions at Informix, Liquidprice.com, an Internet based e-commerce site, Acteva Inc, an Internet event management company, and MoonWater Consulting, a management consulting company for the hi-tech and Internet markets. Steve writes a weekly music review column for www.enroute.com and has co hosted a San Francisco based radio show. Steve is a licensed General Aviation pilot and as such is ApplauseCast's designated pilot.
Has kindly agreed to create and maintain our soon to be released website. Our goal is to have our website be a "digital destination" and Paul is implementing the infrastructure to ensure we can do so. Paul is also putting in place the means by which we will soon be able to charge for our high quality digital content.
Sean has agreed to periodically let us listen in on his podcasts covering, addressing, noting, describing and chuckling at a large range of topics. He is also the director of special sales and editor-at-large for Travelers' Tales. He is a former seminarian, stockbroker, and prison instructor with a degree in Psychology. A life-long devotee of good humor and all things sacred and profane, his recent editorial credits include: Travelers' Tales China, The Best Travelers' Tales 2004, Hyenas Laughed at Me and Now I Know Why, Travelers' Tales American Southwest, Travelers' Tales Greece, Travelers'
